My Fund Raising Goal Is In Sight!!!
Thanks to everyone for sending in donations, I am getting much closer to reaching my fund raising goal. Please let others know of my Eagle Project. I'm planning on breaking ground in July.
We hope that the minor variance to install the tower is approved next week. When that is done we will apply for a building permit.

Minor Variance Application Submitted for Tower
SCIRA, Inc. just turned in the official paperwork to begin the construction of my project. Because the tower is so tall they had to apply for a "Minor Variance" with the County of San Bernardino. Hopefully this process won't take too long.

SCIRA in their board meeting on Feb.18 2009 unanimously approved naming the tower EAGLE TOWER. They wanted to give me and my brother a thanks for our Eagle Projects, and to also honor all young men who have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and all of those to come in the future.
My brother and I are really excited that SCIRA named the tower EAGLE TOWER. Thanks for everyone's help.

Let the fund raising race BEGIN!!!!!!!!
My family and I just mailed off 102 letters to the Stake Presidents in Southern California, and I mailed a letter to Elder Dalton who is one of our Area Authorities. My right hand is really sore from writing the names and addresses of all them. I did 78 of them last night and the other 24 letters the day before. So let the fund raising begin!!!!!!!!
I want to say thanks to SCIRA for also sending letters to invite all of its members to help with my fund raising drive too.

SCIRA Inc. Board's Approval
Discussion with Craig Holmes

I discussed the concept of building a concrete foundation for the Southern California Intermountain Repeater Association with Craig Holmes who is SCIRA's president.
SCIRA, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that provides Amateur Radio emergency communication support to the LDS Church in times of disaster. Their President Craig Holmes asked if I was willing to help them with this project.
They have been collecting funds to install a concrete foundation for a 70 foot tall Radio tower that was donated to them by Ms. Suzanne Burton. It will be installed in Running Springs. The location is ideal for radio communications because the site is at an elevation of 6,300 feet. Once installed their radio equipment will be able to talk all over Southern California.
